Acclaimed by Narciso Yepes as "one of the best teachers
in the world". He studied with Yepes, intermittently, between
1960 and 1984. He attained international recognition assisting
Yepes in master classes in Paris and giving his own in Belgium.
He was also the only South African ever to be a judge (along
with Yepes and Joaquin Rodrigo) at the "Francisco Tarrega"
Competition, in Benicasim. Some of his former students include
Simon Wynberg, Timothy Walker, David Hewitt, and Viktor van Niekerk.
