Omni Pattern, 20 Ohm Transformerless, w/STC-XLR Adapter + Cathedral Transformer Adapter

Up for sale is a vintage 1930s STC/Coles 4021C dynamic mic in good condition. This Ball & Biscuit mic was designed for omni response, and were made to a very high quality standard. These 1930s era mics were designed for preamps that are no longer made, as 20 Ohm transformerless mics are not at all optimized for modern preamps. However, this mic includes a 20 Ohm to 600 Ohm transformer adapter, containing a Shure transformer coupled with a 600 Ohm output, giving the mic additional gain and a fuller tone when used with modern preamps. Also included is the Coles / STC to XLR adapter. These vintage STC 4021 dynamic mics are a lot of fun to own and use, as they are quite often useful for several things -- and have been used with some success in recent drum recordings. This model also has a wonderful industrial design that might be inspirational in itself. The mic is hefty, and built like a tank. Comes with the Coles/STC - XLR adapter, and the Cathedral 20-600 Ohm transformer adapter. SEE PDF BROCHURE
