Up for consideration is a brand new Roswell Colares cardioid mic, a FET recreation of the classic studio vocal microphone, inspired by the vintage AKG ELA M 251. This is a great flagship vocal mic that can be also used for strings, acoustic + electric guitars, bass cabs, drum overheads, in addition to lead + backing vocals. Also, these mics offer both a pad and high-pass filters to help tailor the sound to get the right amount of weight, proximity, and transformer coloration!!!

A MODERN TAKE on VINTAGE SOUND: Colares has a great, 251-inspired character and warmth of tone that imparts a smoothness and musicality to your tracks. The sound is big and warm, with some nice transformer coloration, yet still smooth, detailed, and deceptively quiet. It offers the modern take on the AKG 251-inspired sound, combined with the classic edge-terminated capsule design from the 1950s, and gives your sound a richness and fullness that you just don't normally get with a condenser mic in this price range.
