Up for sale is an exceptionally nice 1962 Gibson SG Special. It plays great and sounds fantastic, and is generally in good cosmetic condition for 1962. Obviously, somebody in the past has modded the guitar for HBs, and Gibson BurstBucker 3s are now installed, and they sound fantastic in this guitar. Other modern replacement parts are the pots, knobs, switch, jack, TR cover. I think the strap holders are original, and the pickguard may also be original, but routed for HBs. The control cavity cover is original, but has the guys initials engraved on the inside of it, as he did on the back of the headstock. Comes with an aftermarket hardshell case.

Unfortunately, the guitar no longer has a serial number, but it still can be easily identified as a 1962 by the neck joint. Also, the original 4 pots that came with the guitar are dated 1961 and 1962, but these are not included. This is a rare chance to get a player's grade, vintage 1962 SG Special, with all the vintage mojo and vibe of the coveted 1962 neck profile, and the old-growth Honduran mahogany, without having to pay the high price of an all-original collector's piece.
