16" Maple Jumbo Body w/Hardshell Case

Up for sale is a 2015 Gibson Custom Shop J185 12-string. This is basically a J200 Super Jumbo with a 16" body, and a mahogany neck. This is a Custom Shop, limited edition run, and this 16" Maple Jumbo is perfect platform for the 12-string, both in tonewood combination as well as neck geometry. The 1 7/8" thin/wide mahogany neck allows for plenty of space for fingering intricate chord shapes, without having to struggle with a cramped fingerboard trying to accommodate all 12 strings. Also, the 16" maple body combined with the warmth of the Mahogany neck gives you a perfectly even sound, allowing for plenty of 12-string chime, without muddying up the bass.

Cosmetically, it is in very good shape with just a 1/2" ding on the upper treble bout on the top, along with some small scratches on the side. Comes with the Authenticity Certificate, and the original hardshell case. For me, this is a perfect 12-string: very easy to play, low action, wide neck comfortable to finger, and that perfectly balanced Gibson tone. The neck actually reminds me of the early 60s thin/wide Gibson profile found on a vintage 1962 SG Special.
