Here is a wonderful 1986 Gibson Invader w/Seymour Duncan Invader PUPs. I looks loud -- and IS loud!! It has a great neck profile, with the rare, possibly unique Gibson combination of bolt-on maple neck, mahogany body, and Ebony FB. While is is almost a no-brainer to put Invader PUPs in an Invader guitar, it really works wonders here, as the added beef + girth of the Invader PUPs beautiful balance the extra brightness and attack from the maple/ebony neck and the bolt-on construction. The Invaders are 4-conductor, so the Bridge PUP is wired to split-coil with a push/pull volume pot. So the sound is balanced all-around full -- beefy like a Gibson -- and with power enough to drive an amp to the moon!!
The guitar does have some wear, and is actually a factory second (see SEC above the serial). Impossible to say what it was of course, but this is an unusual Invader, as it is one of the few with a painted neck, as most were clear to show the maple. The guitar has a white undercoat, and this shows through on the back of the neck -- but ut does NOT seem to be from wear, so I'm guessing it came from the factory that way, as the finish is perfect there, except for the fact that you can see the white!! The guitar plays, sounds and feels great, and is the schnitz -- certainly one of the best Gibsons from their mid-80s "economy" series, and a great Gibson bolt-on design. The guitar does not come with a case.
