Here is a super-rare 1982 Epiphone SG Special II "KZ", made by Gibson in the Kalamazoo factory. This is from the 1982-3 Epi "America Series", which consisted of the SG Special I & II, The Spirit I and II, and "The USA Map" guitars. The Epi SG Special had some unusual design featurers -- including a maple neck, and a basswood or adler body. It also has some recent upgrades -- including a set of Rio Grande Texas / BBQ w/4-conductor PUPs, and a 'Free Way' 6-position toggle, giving you have 3 in HB + 3 in SC mode, on the same toggle switch. Comes with a non-stock lightning bar bridge, and a non stock SG Standard pickguard.
The guitar model later was ported back and sold as a Gibson at the Nashville factory, so this is one of the very last production guitars to be made by Gibson at the Kalamazoo factory, and also one of the very few post-1960s Epiphones to be completely Gibson-made in Kalamazo, USA.
The guitar plays great and sounds fantastic. Cosmetically, it does have some nicks, dings, and scratches as can be seen in the photos. Come with a gig bag. So here is a golden opportunity to pick up a super-rare Epi Kalamazoo, USA-made SG Special II -- with some nice added upgrades.
