Up for consideration is a DBX 566 compressor / limiter (Sold for Parts / As-Is / No Returns), a DBX recreation/refinement of the older Digitech VCS1 tube compressor, for which DBX purchased the design rights to, and implemented several sonic improvements. This is a great compressor that can be used for either individual instruments like bass, drums and synths, among many other uses, like drum buss and vocals. Now discontinued, these 566 comps are selling for a small fraction of their original sticker price. These units, are built like a tank and are an inexpensive way to add 2 channels of tube compression to your regording/tracking or live sound rig. This unit has some issues, and is sold for parts / As-Is / No Returns.

Very easy to use for tracking, mixing, live sound or for instrument rigs, the 566 is a great sounding tube compressor that doesn't break the bank.
