SOLD 1991 Orville By Gibson J200
Super Jumbo Acoustic Guitar
Made in Japan, Terada factory
Sunburst Finish, Maple Neck
Here is something that you don't see very often -- an Orville By Gibson J200 Super Jumbo, w/pickup, made by Terada MIJ in 1991. This was the top of the line acoustic offering by OBG, which is the High-End line from Orville Guitars / Gibson Japan. The quality of materials and workmanship was of extremely high quality, and this guitar does indeed rival the Gibson J200 in both looks and sound, and still costs $1k less.
Cosmetically, there are some nicks and scratches, but overall the guitar is in good condition and plays great, and sounds fantastic, with the recognizable Gibson sound: warm tone, very even response from high to low, crispy attach, percussive strumming, and still quite beautiful to look at.
The guitar has a pickup installed, which I'm not sure if it is original or not, but it is passive, with 3x small round soundboard transducers installed right in front of the bridge plate. All in all, a rare, collectable guitar that is a player's dream. yet still less than even a lower-level Gibson jumbo.
