* SOLD * 1976 Rioji Matsuoka M60 Classical Guitar * SOLD *
Brazilian Rosewood Back & Sides
Spruce Top, Ebony Fingerboard, w/Case
Nut Width: 52.4 mm, Scale Length: 650 mm
Up for sale is a vintage 1976 Rioji Matsuoka M60 Artist Series concert classical guitar with a spruce top and Brazilian back and sides. This is from the time when high-quality, made in Japan concert classical guitars were at a high point, with Masaru Kohno and Sakurai leading the charge. This Matsuoka M60 Artist Series guitar is in the same league, with some of the same qualities, bold, slightly dark voice, strong basses, and a wonderful, even response across the registers.
This guitar is in very good condition, with only a few marks and scratches for a 40-year old guitar. There is some slight compression damage on the back of the lower bout where it looks like the guitar may have suffered a light drop. It is very close to the edge, not a crack, and is totally stable. The guitar plays great, sounds great and has no structural issues. The top looks near mint. I believe this guitar has only had 2 owners since 1976, so there is a great opportunity to get a top MIJ vintage 1970s concert classical in Brazilian rosewood.
