* SOLD * Vintage 1968 Kalamazoo KG-10
Mahogany Guitar * SOLD *
Made by Gibson / Kalamazoo,
Serial # 971822, Width: 1 9/16th (40mm)
Up for sale is the Gibson made, B-15 mahogany guitar that they re-branded as a "Kalamazoo" to go along with the Kalamazoo KG-1 and KG-2 they released at the same time, in an attempt to reboot the Kalamazoo brand back from the 1930s. This is much like the Melody Maker of acoustic guitars, and just like the Melody Maker these guitars were made from the same high-quality materials and by the same skilled Gibson craftsmen as the rest of the Gibson / Epiphone line coming out of Kalamazoo in the '60s. In fact, the neck profiles also coincide, and this guitar has a typical thin 1 9/16th" late '60s Gibson profile. So this would be an ideal acoustic guitar for somebody whose main guitar a late 60s Gibson electric, wanting the same neck profile and feel in a small body acoustic.
The guitar is showing several dings, scratches and cosmetic repairs, and one of the braces on the back has been shortened (visible through the sound hole), but the guitar is very solid and stable and plays perfectly and sounds great. Does not come with a case.
