Up for consideration is a 2006 Gibson SG '61 Reissue electric guitar body, with some original parts and case. If you want the original early 60s original, it will cost you up to $15,000 or more, on the vintage market. However, the Gibson '61 Reissue is a faithful reproduction of the coveted original, and is selling here for a tiny fraction of the vintage selling price. This guitar is missing some parts, so here is a great opportunity to build your own SG, with this great, classic vintage-reproduction guitar!!!

Well they have migrated to a vintage 1960s SG, but this could be a great opportunity to outfit this guitar with BETTER parts. There are many better pickups than the modern Gibson '57 Classics, and I can personally recommend the PRS 57/08 pickups with the coil-taps.

CONDITION
The guitar is in excellent cosmetic and playing condition, with no cosmetic or structural issues. There have been no repairs, and this has been a wonderful guitar, that would be a keeper had not a vintage 1060's SG Body recently appeared. All the included parts are original, and the the rest of the parts have migrated to a vintage 1960s SG. The only issues are with the Protector case, which is missing several of the latches, but makes for an excellent shipping case. You may want to source another SG case for regular travel.

The guitar has great tone, sustain, and easy playability, and also excellent tonal variety. The guitar is miced using a vintage Neuman U87 mic on a Peavey Studio Pro 112 amp, straight into a Sony PCM D1 flash recorder, and MP3s were made in Logic.

In short, this guitar is a World-Class electric concert and/or recording guitar, and it would make a great guitar for gigs, as well as studio work. It is lightweight, and very fun to play, and the wide range of sounds you can get out of it give the flexibility to play in a lot of different styles.
