|* SOLD * 1938 Gibson Geib/Lifton 16" Archtop Case * SOLD *
Vintage Tweed hardshell case with Racing Stripe
Up for consideration is a vintage Geib/Lifton tweed case for 16" pre-war archtops. If you want to make a dramatic entry with a pre-war archtop, nothing announces the arrival of something special like walking in with the dramatically cool, vintage-correct tweed case with the racing stripe. These cases are super rare, and this one is still perfectly functional, and still does a great job of protecting the guitar, in addition to providing some extra mojo and the important wow factor.
The case has some wear, and is missing a metal foot on the case bottom, has a DIY leather strap installed as a case lid holder, and has signs of previous attempts at installing a case lid holder with glue, and there is some glued styrofoam still attached to back of the case. But despite the flaws, the case is still sturdy, and the latches are all original and working fine, and the fit on a 16" archtop is snug, with no unwanted guitar movement inside the case. The case will fit all Gibson and Gibson-made 16" Archtops from 3.5" to 4" in depth. May fit other pre-war archtops with a 16" lower bout. Guitars in the photos are not included!!
