Up for consideration is an Microtech Gefell UM92s multipattern tube mic, Completely upgraded with Oliver Archut's circuit mod to the amplifier design, new AMI UM351 transformer, NOS Telefunken tube, and AMI premium 9-pattern PSU from a Blackspade UM17R. This is now a great vocal mic, but also a terrific all-rounder mic that can be used for strings, ac. / el. guitars and percussion. New, the current version Gefell UM92.1s mics are selling for $3,536 each, so here is a great opportunity to own a much-improved Oliver Archut version -- with about $700 worth of upgrades, and still save over $500!!!

CLASSIC M7 SOUND
UM92s's mics have always been a decent mic thanks to the PVC M7 capsule, from the Glory Years of their manufacture at Gefell. However, certain deficiencies in the amp circuit, the transformer, stock RFT tube and stock PSU have kept it from reaching top-tier status. Now, with the upgrades in these 4 areas, the stock M7 capsule can shine in all its glory, with the support from an improved circuit design, and a world-class transformer, tube and power supply.
